Since the Big P of 2020 forced millions of people out of their office buildings and into Zoom conference calls, it seems every professional I know who once had an office or cubicle of their own now either works remotely or desperately wants to. Myself included.
I’ve been a full-time work-from-home employee since the pandemic, and I have a difficult time imagining being back in an office 40 hours per week.
However, for all of its perks, remote work does have some disadvantages that you should consider before you hit “apply” on that LinkedIn post. I’ve compiled a list of the top 11 reasons why working from home is not all it’s cracked up to be.
11. Kids and/or pets
If you have children, and they’re at home when you’re trying to work, you will quickly realize the mistake you’ve made in choosing a work-at-home career. Kids don’t care that you have a deadline or are on the phone with an important client.
